Maryland Energy Assistance Resources

Photo of Baltimore in the snow, 2016If you, or someone you know, is struggling to pay your BGE bill this winter, please know there is help available. Please don’t wait until your utilities have been shut off — seek help immediately. Maryland has programs available to assist low-income people with their utility bills, and you can even apply online.

You may also qualify for weatherization services to improve the energy-efficiency of your home. In order to qualify, you must be a homeowner (or landlord) and agree to have the work done. There are also income restrictions. For more information, and to download the necessary forms, go here if you are a Baltimore City resident. Residents outside the city should go here for more information.
